How far in advance should we book?

Twelve months is ideal, but I’ve done weddings that have booked me the month before. As long as we have time to go over your vision for the painting and prep supplies, we can make it work!
Do you travel for weddings?

Yes! I love traveling for weddings! So far I’ve live painted in Annapolis, Tampa, Miami, Houston, and San Jose. All of my supplies can fly, and travel rates are priced individually based on flight and hotel costs.
What time do you arrive on the wedding day?
I typically arrive 2–3 hours before guest arrival. This gives me time to capture reference photos, set up my easel, plan the composition, sketch the painting, and begin blocking in the scene before the celebration gets underway.

Do we plan the painting together before the wedding?

Yes! We’ll have two consultation calls before your wedding to talk through your vision, painting preferences, composition, timeline, reference photos, and the best locations for my live painting setup.
For my first setup, I recommend placing me somewhere with a clear view of the scenery you want featured in the painting. Being able to see the setting in person helps me paint quickly and accurately.
Later in the evening, I recommend moving the easel somewhere guests naturally pass by, such as near the bar, photo booth, reception entrance, or another high-traffic area.

Guests can watch throughout the day, but the reception usually gets the biggest reactions because everyone has more time to stop, chat, and watch the painting develop.
Depending on the package you choose, I typically paint for 7–9 hours on the wedding day, about two hours of that is prior to guest arrival. The live portion is part performance and part foundation-building for the finished artwork, so the painting will continue developing long after the wedding ends.
No — and that’s intentional. I work in oil paint and multiple layers, so your wedding painting is not designed to be completely finished during the live performance. After the wedding, it returns to my studio for additional layers, refinement, texture, and approximately 40 hours of detail work. You can expect the completed painting to be shipped to you roughly 6 months after your wedding date.
You're more than welcome to come and check on it whenever! I highly recommend planning a viewing near the end of the night, ideally while your photographer and videographer are still there. It gives you a chance to see how the painting has developed throughout the celebration and creates a really beautiful photo and video moment.
